I don't talk about the struggles I have had in life too much. We all have them. I usually only share those vulnerable parts of myself when I feel it might help someone. With that in mind, I'll share a little for this.
Seven years ago, I found myself feeling an emotional rock bottom and "stuck" I'd never experienced before. Those who knew and loved me most were worried. They rallied and did for me what I couldn't at that time. I was encouraged and pushed back into the light. That light did what light always does and cast out the darkness I was experiencing. Helping others has been one of the best ways I have found to remain in that light.
I found out about the Kyle Peace Foundation from our good friend whose disabled daughter has been participating in their fundraising races for a while now. She loves her races. Each race raises money for those who, like me, have things they couldn't do for themselves. I am not good at much, but I can run. It would be the greatest honor to push her for this full marathon and to raise these funds for such a great organization.
