Hi everybody! I am excited to announce that I will be joining the Kyle Pease Foundation (KPF) this October to help make an impact and bring awareness to inclusion. KPF was founded in 2011 to create awareness and raise funds to promote success for persons with disabilities by providing assistance to meet their individual needs through sports.

I will be running the Marine Corps Marathon as a push-assist with wheelchair athlete, Lizzie! “Push Assist" means that I will push the wheelchair for the entire marathon. I will lend my legs to her and she will lend me her spirit, and together Lizzie an I will conquer 26.2 miles this October. We have some big goals and big dreams with this race! It is my honor to race and support inclusion with KPF.

About 10 years ago I decided to make a change to my life. During the winter of 2008, I started running. My first run was only about half a mile and it was a struggle for me. I loved it! Each run got a little bit better and over time I would go further and further. This led to doing 5ks for a while then to 10ks then to half marathons and I also started dabbling in some sprint triathlons. It was addicting and I couldn't stop. This new addiction helped replace a current addiction at the time. I was a big time smoker and knew that if I wanted to go further (26.2 miles) and faster, I would need to quit. I did. Cold turkey. This led me to completing my first marathon in 2013. Again, I loved it and wanted more. Ironman was next. It was around this time I met my amazing girlfriend, Ceage Towler, who embarked on this journey with me. With her help and support, I completed a couple half Ironman distances before racing my first full Ironman in 2014. This is where I got plugged into the running and tri community. It was around this time I met Chris Nasser (a fellow KPF pusher) and ITL Coaching and Performance. It was here where my running and triathlon "career" really took off. It became a lifestyle. Started being coached and made some amazing friends all with the same goals in mind. To get more fit and become better athletes. Since being with them I've completed 3 more Ironman races, 9 half ironman races, a couple Boston marathons, and many many other road races. It was through ITL where I heard about KPF. The stories, the races, the smiles I would here about these athletes and their pushers were amazing. I wanted to be a part of it. I was reached out to by Adam Heiser (ITL coach and athlete) about the opportunity to run with a KPF athlete at MCM. I was honored that I was asked to be a part of this and couldn't say no. So here we are today. Lizzieand I will be training together over the next few months to prepare this journey together. Along with this journey, we are here to raise money for KPF and bring awareness for inclusion through sport. The goal is to raise at least $3,000 but would love to raise more than that. I humbly ask for your support for this event. Every dollar helps and is 100% tax-deductible! Thank you in advance for your help and remember... Together WE wheel!
