Growing up with a family member who had osteogenesis imperfecta, I saw firsthand that a disability does not define a person—their dreams, courage, and experiences do. That lesson has continued to guide my work as an educator and special education assistant principal, where I have had the privilege of supporting incredible students with disabilities and their families. They have shown me that true inclusion means creating opportunities where everyone can belong, compete, achieve, and experience joy.
This January, I am running the Disney Half Marathon with the Kyle Pease Foundation to help create those opportunities. Every mile represents the amazing individuals I have known who deserve access to life-changing experiences through sports, competition, and community.
