Join me in supporting real change. Let’s support good in the world and make a difference. Help us for The Kyle Pease Foundation

I completed my first Dopey Challenge in January 2026, and one of the things that stayed with me most was the starting line itself.

As an endurance athlete, I was moved by the wide range of people showing up for that challenge: participants of different ages, body types, and abilities. I was especially inspired by the athletes who use wheelchairs. Watching them compete was a powerful reminder that sport should make room for everyone. Every athlete deserves respect, autonomy, and a place at the starting line.

Because of that experience, and because of other endurance events that have shaped me, I knew I wanted to run the Dopey Challenge again in 2027. This time, I wanted to do it in support of a mission that deeply aligns with both my values and my lived experience. That is why I chose The Kyle Pease Foundation.

This cause is especially personal when I think about my mom.

My mom was diagnosed with ALS in 2013 and passed away in July 2021. Before she got sick, she was healthy, active, and full of life. We ran the Disney Princess race together multiple times. Watching someone you love go from strong and vibrant to eventually needing a wheelchair is heartbreaking. It changed the way I understand movement, independence, dignity, and what it means to keep showing up when life becomes unimaginably hard.

My mom taught me kindness, patience, unconditional positive regard, and the importance of truly listening, especially to people who may not always feel seen by others. Those lessons have stayed with me, and they are part of what I carry into this race.

I believe deeply in advocating for and supporting all athletes. I believe inclusion matters. I believe every person deserves the opportunity to participate, to be respected, and to belong.

I’m running Dopey 2027 to honor my mom’s memory and to help create a world where more athletes are seen, supported, and welcomed at the starting line.

Thank you for being part of this with me.

Sending you hugs and high fives!
