Join me in supporting wheelchair athletes and making a difference for The Kyle Pease Foundation.
Just a small donation will go a long way in helping me meet my goal for The Kyle Pease Foundation (KPF). I am raising funds for KPF so athletes with disabilities can feel the thrill of victory when they cross the finish line and have their family and friends cheer them on from the sidelines. The KPF purchases medical equipment and adaptive sports equipment for individuals, and contributes to other organizations that provide similar assistance to disabled persons. Their goal is to promote inclusion in all facets of life and to make dreams happen for athletes with disabilities.
I am one of the lucky ones who has gotten to know Kyle Pease. Kyle works at our local Publix, and we got to know each other by talking on fall weekends about college football, and then about his push-assist races. Kyle uses a wheelchair, and he and his brother, Brent, have raced in many Ironmans and marathons. Brent pushes while Kyle experiences the intensity of the race. Together they took what others thought was impossible and made dreams happen.
I wanted to do something that pushed my boundaries and pushed me well outside of my comfort zone as I entered a new decade. I am running my very first marathon and am lucky enough to run NYC with my son and friend. To participate, I chose to raise funds for The Kyle Pease Foundation so that athletes in wheelchairs can share my same excitement and challenge. Knowing that Kyle and others like him push themselves every single day, not just on race day, gave me the motivation to do this.
Thank you for creating beacons of hope and moments of happiness for these amazing athletes and making what seemed impossible for them truly possible.
