Many of you know of my passion for the Kyle Pease Foundation (KPF), whose stated mission is to "Improve the lives of people with disabilities through sports." What some of you may not know is that I am now 15+ months sober after a battle with alcohol. In recovery I have regained my love of running and have begun to participate in races with KPF again. Much like NASCAR's Daytona 500, our biggest race of the year is our first one. On February 25th I will toe the starting line along with 266 other KPF athletes to race for inclusion at the 2024 Publix Atlanta Half-Marathon. The racing wheelchairs we use are very high-tech and cost about $3,000 each. My goal for this race is to fund four new chairs so that more physically challenged athletes can experience the thrill of crossing finish lines.
